Tuolumne County offers many fun and exciting things to do during any season.

Winter Sports include skiing  and snowboarding at Dodge Ridge Ski
Resort, sledding at Leland High Sierra Snowplay Park, or snowmobiling
near the town of Strawberry.  Even ice skating is available locally.

Swimming and water-sports are available at Pinecrest Lake, Beardsley
Reservoir, Lake Tulloch, Cherry Lake, New Melones and Lake Don Pedro.

Ride horseback at Pinecrest or Kennedy Meadows Resort.

Explore nearby National or State Parks such as Yosemite, Columbia,
Calaveras Big Trees, or the ghost town at Bodie.

Visit the nearby historical Gold Rush communities of Jamestown or Sonora.
They offer attractions and activities such as gold panning, museums, unique shops,
and some exceptional restaurants.


Enjoy the Great Outdoors...

Fish in the numerous lakes and streams throughout Tuolumne County.

Hike in the Emigrant, Hoover, or Carson-Iceberg Wilderness Areas.

Experience Class IV and V Rapids on a white-water rafting trip down the
Tuolumne River or Cherry Creek.  To make reservations in advance, you can
contact one of the many local outfitters such as Sierra Mac River Trips or
Zephyr White Water Expeditions.

Spelunk or just visit the area's many caverns including Moaning Cavern,
Mercer Caverns, and California Caverns.

Shop at the many galleries, antique stores, flea markets and crafts fairs
in the Sonora Pass area.

Attend the theatre.  Sonora offers two fantastic local performing arts companies:

from Sugar Pine Cabin), and the Jackson Rancheria Casino in Jackson.

Visit one of the local ranches such as Covers Apple Ranch or Sierra Glen Apple Ranch.

Ride a steam locomotive at Railtown State Historic Park.
