The Location

Sugar Pine is a small residential community located on SR-108 (Sonora Pass).  The town is situated largely on the south side of the highway about two miles east of Twain Harte and bordering the west edge of Mi Wuk Village.  A few businesses are located on the highway as you pass through Sugar Pine, most notably the popular Alicia's Sugar Shack (coffee shop and bakery).  Although several markets and restaurants are nearby in Mi Wuk Village, grocery shopping is best done at the Twain Harte Market, a full grocery store with a butcher, bakery and complete produce section.  Restaurants abound in Twain Harte, as do other services you may need.

The community of Sugar Pine encompasses several small lakes, the largest of which is Sugar Pine Lake which is a private, gated recreational lake open to members only.  A stay at Sugar Pine Cabin will provide access to the lake which is a quick walk from the Cabin.  Several acres surrounding the lake are wooded and fence and access is made via a card-key.  Guests have access to fishing, a beautiful quiet beach, picnic tables and swimming in the warm water.  The lake property also features a parking lot, a trail circumventing the lake, a dam face that can be fished from (no fishing from the beach), and diving platforms.  If you use our lake during your stay, please read the lake rules and abide by them.

The neighborhood in which Sugar Pine Cabin is located is quiet and consists of a 50/50 mix of full time residences and seasonal homes.  Our immediate neighbors are very friendly and helpful should you have a problem during your stay.

Our Rules

We have provided our cabin successfully to our guests for twenty-one years.  We take every effort to make the cabin suitable for a wide variety of groups but we have always catered primarily to families.  We only have one larger consideration over the happiness of our guests and that is the happiness of our neighbors.  Sugar Pine Cabin is located on a quiet street with many full time residents.  The residents are personal friends of ours and have been for many years.  They have been largely supportive of our short term rental and as such we would like to continue the good relationship.  In addition to the few rules listed below we ask our guests to be respectful of the neighborhood.  Remember this is a residential neighborhood and drive at speeds appropriate for weather and road conditions.  Keep noise to a minimum.  Park only in the driveway.  Respect private property (there are no fences here).  Lastly, don't be afraid to greet our neighbors; we have many guests who have made life-long friends in the neighborhood.
Here are our rules:
  • No parties or events.
  • No shooting of projectiles
  • No more than 14 occupants
  • No pets
  • No indoor smoking

We require the following before the rental term begins:
  • A valid form of identification
  • A completed rental agreement, application and occupant list
  • Payment including deposit
